First the general permissions. I'm okay with you doing whatever as long as you ask first before doing anything that would leave a lasting mark such as permanent injury, major trauma, or death. Do note that as a telepath herself she'll have ways to block similar mental abilities.

Now, here's the deal about her mind reading. Darja here is an involuntary mindreader. That's a core part of her character development--having to deal with others having zero secrets from her, whether she wants that or not. That said, I can understand not everyone might want to deal with that. If so you have three options.

For whatever reason it doesn't work on your character. Maybe they have a way to block it already, or maybe it just doesn't work. Maybe your character's resistant for whatever reason or her power's just flaky on them.
For whatever reason she just doesn't pick up on certain thoughts. This is for if you're okay with her reading your character's thoughts in general but have specific secrets you don't want her to pick up on. Note that she generally doesn't blabber to others about what she picks up, but certain things, like if your character's a villain, can be Big Deals.
You can just opt out of having her interact with your character in-person. Network posts would be okay as she can't read people's minds over the network.
